Video message of Nueva Ecija bus shooting victim released by kin

The siblings of the female victim in the fatal shooting inside a bus in Nueva Ecija released a video that indicated a strained relationship with her son, according to a ''24 Oras Weekend'' report on Saturday.

“Ginawa ko itong video na ito para sabihin na ang aking anak na si—ay walang karapatan mag-stay sa bahay ko o kumuha ng mga ani,” the victim said in the video.

(I made this video to say that my son has no right to stay in my house or take my crops.)

The victim's son, with whom she filed robbery and carnapping charges, is considered a possible person of interest in the case.

However, the son's camp responded that the video was taken at the height of their mother-son feud and that they had already forgiven each other before the shooting happened.

Meanwhile, the family of the female victim's live-in partner did not give a statement, as they are still mourning his death.

In a viral video of the incident, two male passengers initially told the driver of the Manila-bound bus that they would get off at the town of Carranglan in Nueva Ecija.

The men suddenly brandished pistols and gunned down two passengers sitting on the first row. The victims, a man and a woman, were repeatedly shot in the head and neck.

The suspects then told the driver to open the door, to which he complied, and the gunmen immediately fled.

On Friday, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board issued a show cause order to Victory Liner Inc. due to its alleged failure to provide safe transportation for its passengers. —Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
