Man falls on tracks during epileptic seizure, gets hit by train
A man in Polangui, Albay died after he was hit by a train when he reportedly fell on the tracks following an epileptic seizure.
According to Jessica Calinog of GMA Regional TV Balitang Bicolandia, the man lost his head and limbs in the accident in Barangay Lanigay on Monday night.
Based on investigation conducted by the Polangui Municipal Police Station, the man was walking along the train tracks when he suffered from a seizure, which caused him to fall on the tracks just as a train from Naga City, heading towards Ligao City, was approaching.
The Philippine National Railways is investigating the incident.
Local authorities are also emphasizing the importance of information and education campaigns, especially for those residing near the train tracks, to ensure safety and prevent such tragic incidents.
