PNP: Original owner of Catherine Camilon's car provided fictitious address
Police are looking for the original owner of the vehicle beauty queen Catherine Camilon was using on the day she went missing, as the former owner of the car supposedly provided a fictitious address on the deed of sale, authorities said Friday.
In a press conference, Police Regional Office 4A chief Police Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas said the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (HPG) was working on the matter.
“As of today, hinahanap pa natin iyong bumili ng sasakyan kasi nga iyong nakalagay doon sa deed of sale is fictitious iyong address na nakalagay,” he said.
(As of today, we are still looking for the person who bought the vehicle because the address provided on the deed of sale was fictitious.)
“So iyong HPG, sila po iyong naghahanap ngayon noong tao na nakalagay sa deed of sale ng sasakyan ni Catherine,” he added.
(So, the HPG is looking for this person on the deed of sale of Catherine’s car.)
According to the police, the person of interest in the disappearance of Camilon, a police officer, gave the said vehicle to the beauty queen.
Camilon was using the vehicle on the day she went missing.
Based on CCTV footage captured on October 12, Camilon’s vehicle was seen passing some towns in Batangas.
Police said Camilon did not appear to be alone.
The reward for the information on the location of Camilon was increased to P250,000.
Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste and local businesses each contributed P100,000 to the reward, while the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission provided an additional P50,000.
Police are optimistic that Camilon is still alive, according to Lucas.
On October 16, Camilon's sister, Chin-chin, took to social media to ask netizens for help in locating her sister.
Five days after Chin-chin’s social media post, Catherine was declared a "missing person."
