Police identify person of interest in case of missing beauty queen Catherine Camilon


A person of interest has been identified in the case of beauty queen Catherine Camilon who went missing after being last seen in Batangas' Lemery town, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 4A said on Monday.

“As per [Regional Director Police Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas], yes po,” PRO 4A Public Information Office chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Chitadel Gaoiran told GMA News Online when asked if there was a person of interest (POI) in the case.

“Tuloy-tuloy pa din po ang pangangalap ng mga impormasyon para mas matukoy po yung pagkakakilanlan ng POI,” Gaoiran added.

Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate Catherine Camilon was last seen on October 12 at a mall in Lemery.

Catherine’s mother said she was supposed to meet someone in Batangas City, but she did not show up.

Batangas Police Provincial Office Director Police Colonel Samson Belmonte ordered "intensified efforts in tracing and gathering information" on the whereabouts of Catherine.

The police added that "stations and units across Batangas Police Province are working together with the Tuy Municipal Police Station in searching for any trace or information."

"Anyone with reliable information may report to the Tuy Municipal Police Station via their Station Hotline 0998-598-5711."
