LTO patrol officer may face charges for allegedly mauling delivery rider

A Land Transportation Office (LTO) patrol officer may face charges after being involved in a traffic altercation with a delivery rider in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

According to Emil Sumangil's Friday report on "24 Oras," a concerned motorist took a video of the altercation between the LTO officer and the rider.

The LTO officer was allegedly armed, and he had grabbed the rider's phone and hurled it to the ground.

The altercation ended with the LTO officer driving away, while the emotionally distraught rider was left sitting on the side of the road.

The rider sought help from the San Jose del Monte Police, who identified the suspect as Gregorio Glean - an LTO administrative aide.

"Bilang sibilyang kawani, yung papakita mo yung baril eh medyo ano sa tao, nakaktakot, kaya may ano pa rin po yun, may threat din," said police investigator Ryan Antimaro.

(As a civilian employee, being seen brandishing a gun, that would be frightening to people. So that's still considered as threatening.)

The two parties met on September 14, with Glean apologizing.

However, Glean may still face charges. — Sundy Mae Locus/DVM, GMA Integrated News
