2 people stabbed dead during basketball game in Pampanga

Two people were reported dead and one injured in a stabbing incident during a basketball game in Porac, Pampanga, according to a 24 Oras report by CJ Torida on Wednesday.

Porac police reports stated that the incident was caused by disagreements between the players, who were also co-workers outside the court.

Then, medyo nagka pisikalan until itong anak ng suspek, tumakbo papunta sa sasakyan, kumuha ng bladed weapon and then pinagsasaksak po itong ating tatlong victims,” said Porac Police Chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Palmyra Guardaya.

CCTV footage of the incident showed a group of men chasing one of the victims out to the road when one began to repeatedly stab the victim. Another joined him in the assault with his own weapon.

Other groups could be seen beating and throwing items at each other while the stabbing occurred.

Doon nagkagulo yung mga tao,” said Barangay Mitla Proper chairman Mario Dimalanta.

Justice is being demanded by the family of the dead victims, identified as brothers Mario Morden Jr. and Matthew Morden, and their injured brother Martin Morden.

Karumaldumal talaga 'yung ginawa nila,” Arlene Rojas, the victims’ mother, said.

Meanwhile, Porac Police shall continue their ongoing investigation while searching for the suspects, who remain at large. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
