Lava effusion observed at Mayon volcano summit

A slow effusion of lava was observed at the Mayon Summit Crater on Wednesday evening, Phivolcs reported.

The renewed effusion began at 8:49 p.m. and was captured by the IPCam at the Mayon Volcano Observatory-Ligñon Hill.

"This was observed to have advanced lava flow in the Bonga, Mi-isi, and Basud Gullies and to have generated incandescent rockfall within two kilometers from the summit crater," Phivolcs said.

"Alert Level 3 is maintained over Mayon Volcano," the agency added. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
