LTO summons owner of vehicle in Cavite road rage incident

The Land Transportation Office has issued a show-cause order against the owner of the vehicle involved in another viral road rage incident in Imus, Cavite.

In a statement released Tuesday, LTO said the SCO issued by its Region 4A office on Monday requested the Rizal-based female owner of a white Honda CRV to explain why she should not be penalized in connection with the misbehavior of the male driver in the viral video.

In the video, the driver could be seen swerving and blocking vehicles before he confronted the driver of the vehicle behind him.

The footage also showed that the driver cursed at the occupants of another vehicle.

According to the statement, the driver appeared to have been under the influence of liquor during the incident.

The suspect is being investigated for violation of Republic Act 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code for Reckless Driving.

The LTO is also checking the identity of the driver and the validity of his license.

Victim wants suspect’s license revoked

In Maki Pulido’s “24 Oras” report on Tuesday, victim Jarrid Bation recounted the details of the incident, saying he was with his wife and six-month-old baby when it happened.

(The baby was in the car seat. I decided not to open the windows because something might happen to my child.)

(My priority was my family’s safety.)

Bation also said he had already reported the incident to the Cavite Police.

Paano kung makainom uli siya or ganun talaga siya mag drive?” the road rage victim said.

(I hope his driver’s license will get revoked. What if he drives under the influence of alcohol again? Or maybe that’s just his way of driving.) —Jiselle Anne Casucian and Sundy Locus/AOL/VBL, GMA Integrated News
