5 killed in Bulacan truck-AUV collision

Five people were killed in a road accident involving a truck and an AUV in San Ildefonso, Bulacan, Unang Balita reported on Thursday.

CCTV footage shows a truck was maneuvering toward a gasoline station along Maharlika Highway when another truck tried to overtake it and hit the AUV in the opposite lane.

The AUV was dragged for several meters until the two vehicles hit three posts.

Due to the impact, the AUV was totally damaged.

Five of the six people on board the AUV were killed. They were identified as Nelson Magundayao, Arlene Sipcon, Crispin Garcia, Crisanto Garcia and Christopher Lachica.

According to the driver of the truck identified as Aurelio Bartikil, he was not able to maneuver his vehicle to its proper lane on time because of the heavy weight it was carrying.

The driver has already undergone inquest proceeding. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
