Cessna leaves Laoag, goes missing en route to Tuguegarao
A Cessna 152 plane bound for Tuguegarao City is the subject of a search after it didn't reach the airport as scheduled.
According to the Cagayan Provincial Information Office, the light aircraft was last monitored 32 nautical miles from Alcala, Cagayan.
The Office of Civil Defense in Region 2 said two planes bound for the Tuguegarao airport took off from the Laoag City airport at 12:16 p.m.
Only one of them arrived at 1:11 p.m.
Authorities lost contact with the pilot and until Tuesday night could not be reached by cellphone or by radio.
According to a report on State of the Nation, the authorities believe the airplane either made an emergency landing or crashed in Apayao, Abra, or Kalinga.
On board the missing Cessna is its pilot and an Indian student-pilot.
