Bulacan placed under state of calamity due to flooding
The Provincial Government of Bulacan placed the locality under a state of calamity on Tuesday due to the flooding caused by Typhoon Egay and the Southwest Monsoon which damaged agriculture and infrastructure.
A total of 228,648 families from 171 barangays were affected by the flooding.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office helped evacuate 21,367 individuals amid the floods.
"Kailangang kailangan iyan dahil unang una ang ating agricultural damages is almost P80 million, 'yung livestock and hogs natin ay halos P3 million. Wala pa po diyan ang infra," explained Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando.
Last Monday, Fernando stressed the importance of prioritizing the solution for flooding in Bulacan during a Technical Working Group Meeting of the House Committee on Public Works and Highways. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
