Parts of Bulacan still flooded as Habagat continues to bring rains

Some areas in Bulacan remained flooded on Tuesday after days of rains caused by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) enhanced by Typhoon Falcon (international name: Khanun).

This has caused inconvenience to residents and workers trying to make a living.

Bulacan has already been placed under a state of calamity due to the flooding.

Malolos

In Barangay Sto. Rosario in Malolos, floodwaters reached knee-high in some areas, according to a report by James Agustin on Unang Balita.

Residents however did not mind the flood and waded through the waters to get to their places of work or do errands.

Some tricycle drivers lamented that they could not ply their routes due to the floodwaters.

The public market and some establishments were among those flooded, aside from houses.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said 39 barangays in Malolos were flooded.

Meanwhile, in Balagtas, a portion of MacArthur Highway was still flooded on Tuesday.

In Marilao, the floodwaters have gone down in Barangay Abangan but these have yet to subside.

Calumpit

Meanwhile, in Calumpit, Bulacan, residents of Barangay Sapang Bayan used boats to move around as the flood has reached chest-deep, according to a report by Susan Enriquez on Unang Balita.

Residents said they have been flooded for almost one week now due to the rains from Habagat as well as the release of water from Bustos Dam.

Many of them who did not evacuate stayed in the second floor of their houses.
