PCG rescues 7 fishermen from capsized boat in Masbate

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued seven fishermen after their boat capsized near Jintotolo Island in Masbate.

According to a report from Unang Balita on Tuesday, it took two hours to complete the rescue operation.

The PCG said the fishermen were headed to Estancia, Iloilo, when their boat faced strong waves and wind.

The PCG is now investigating if the fishermen committed any violations and disregarded gale warnings. The fishermen were also found without any life jackets. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
