Ilocos Sur residents affected by Typhoon Egay receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation
Over 3,600 residents from Bantay, Ilocos Sur received aid from the GMA Kapuso Foundation after the devastation caused by Typhoon Egay.
According to a report on "24 Oras," Monday, many residents lost their homes and livelihoods.
Under Operation Bayanihan, the GMA Kapuso Foundation distributed food packs and diapers to the affected residents.
Among the beneficiaries are Marilou Morales, who lost the house she inherited from her grandparents.
"'Yun pong bahay 'yun sana 'yung alaala ko, nawala po," she said.
Rhon Arquelada, officer of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, said what the residents need right now are food and non-food items.
"Lalo na 'yung mga malalapit na nasa river dahil sila 'yung pinakaaffected dito sa baha," he said.
