Continuous rain, swollen river floods Pangasinan localities

Flood waters continued to rise in Pangasinan's Dagupan City and surrounding localities as the area continued to experience scattered rain.

According to GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon Claire Lacanilao's Sunday report on 24 Oras Weekend, Barangay Malued officials rescued several constituents from the flooding.

In Calasiao town, the flooding was so high that residents resorted to using boats, though several unemployed locals also saw this as an opportunity to earn a few pesos.

According to the Calasiao Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, the local river, the Marusay, had risen past the critical level and flooded 10 of the town's 20 barangays.

Flood waters had been rising in Calasiao since Saturday due to the continuous rain, with several locals reporting that the flooding was neck high.  — DVM, GMA Integrated News
