Egay affects Calabarzon, Mindoro residents
Residents in several areas of the Calabarzon Region and Mindoro were also feeling the effects of Super Typhoon Egay, according to a Tuesday report by GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog's Andrew Bernardo on 24 Oras.
With Signal Number 1 raised over Quezon Province, around 200 passengers were reported stranded at the docks as alerts were raised for residents living near the coast.
Around 191 families in Calabarzon had taken refuge at evacuation centers, according to data from the region's Office of Civil Defense.
Several incidents of soil erosion were reported in Taytay, Rizal, while one landslide was recorded in Tagaytay, Cavite.
Several barangays in Rizal were also flooded due to severe rains brought on by Super Typhoon Egay.
Despite this, there were no reports of property damage or casualties due to the typhoon.
Meanwhile, Occidental Mindoro residents reported severe flooding in several areas in the province, with a rubber boat used to transport trapped locals to evacuation centers. — Jiselle Casucian/DVM, GMA Integrated News
