Route for ATV rides revised for tourists amid Mayon unrest

Did you know that you can still avail of and enjoy ATV rides in Daraga, Albay safely?

According to Chris Novelo's report for GMA Regional TV Balitang Bicolandia on “24 Oras” Tuesday, operators have adjusted the ATV routes and duration of the rides to keep riders safe and far from the 6-kilometer permanent danger zone.

“Medyo humina po yung sales namin kasi nga po yung ano ngayon, sitwasyon ngayon, gawa ng Mayon,” said ATV operator Vivian Malto.

“Gumagawa kami ng mga video presentations kahit papano para at least ma-attract parin yung ibang guest namin,” fellow ATV operator Emil Sambajon added.

The adjustment makes the ATV ride last for only 45 minutes compared to the previous four-hour route.

Daraga Tourism Officer Romullo Adille assured, “Kita pa rin yung Mayon and then parehas din may river crossing and dito kasi tayo malapit sa may malaking river and dumadaan mismo doon sa route na yun.” — Carby Basina/BAP, GMA Integrated News
