Police arrest employer of slain househelp for obstruction of justice

One of the employers of the missing househelp who was found dead inside a drum in Cainta, Rizal, was arrested for obstruction of justice, according to a report on "24 Oras" on Tuesday.

Police said charges were filed against the female employer of victim Maribel Vilma Bacsal after the suspect repeatedly attempted to stop the investigation.

She also refused authorities entry into her residence and misled them by claiming that the foul smell from the sealed drum in her house was from the body of a decaying animal.

The suspect and her bedridden husband are currently under hospital arrest, the report added.
