Over 500 Albay residents receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation amid Mayon unrest
Over 500 residents from Sitio Bical, Barangay Salvacion in Sto. Domingo, Albay received aid from the GMA Kapuso Foundation amid Mayon Volcano's unrest.
According to a report on "24 Oras," Friday, Barangay Salvacion is among the places that required residents to evacuate for their safety.
“Ang ni-relocate dito yung ano sana, priority is Purok 1, 3, and 5 ng Barangay Lidong,” said Camp Head Justino Balimbing.
“Nagpalagay po ang LGU ng mga linya ng tubig. Yung kuryente, solar lang siguro ang ilalagay nila,” he added.
"Sanay na kami mag-ano ng Mayon…Kung malakas aalis kami tsaka yung mga anak, wala na sa bahay, andito na,” said 58-year-old resident Arly Rodriguez.
Arly’s wife, Evelyn, shared that on the day the volcano erupted, she was about to harvest vegetables to bring to the evacuation center. But because she was in a hurry, she slipped and broke her left arm.
"Nagsabi ang munisipyo na force evacuation daw yung Purok 5. Sa kakamadali ko, nadulas ako sa bato,” she said.
The residents of Sitio Bical, Barangay Salvacion are among those who received food packs, hygiene kits, and KN95 masks from Kapuso Foundation.
