18 slightly hurt in Bocaue, Bulacan fire

Eighteen persons suffered minor injuries in a fire incident in Bocaue, Bulacan that was coupled with explosions from firecrackers, GMA Integrated News' Bam Alegre reported on Unang Balita on Thursday.

The fire incident occurred a residential area in Barangay Bundukan and authorities are figuring out the presence of a large quantity of firecrackers in one of the affected houses.

Aside from houses, some vehicles parked in the area were also damaged by the fire and explosions.

A separate Unang Balita report said the fire started a little over 2 a.m. on Thursday and was declared out at 5:11 a.m.

Investigation by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is ongoing.

Bocaue is known for its firecracker and fireworks industry.   —KBK, GMA Integrated News
