28-year-old architect found dead at banana farm raped, strangled

The 28-year-old architect who was found dead and covered with dried banana leaves on a farm in Davao City was strangled and raped, police investigation showed.

According to the report on "Saksi" of RGil Relator of GMA Regional TV One Mindanao, CCTV showed the victim boarding a yellow tricycle at past 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

The earlier report said that she managed to text her parents that she was already in a tricycle on her way home.

The following morning, her body was found at a banana farm.

"Sinasabi ng ibang tricycle driver, hindi rin nila alam kung sino [ang driver]. And then, pagsakay ng victim sa naturang motorcycle, may nauna nang nakasakay na lalaki," said Police Major Catherine Dela Rey, the spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office.

"Ang cause of death ng biktima ay asphyxia due to manual strangulation or sinakal siya. Na-clear din doon na na-rape ang victim," she added.

Investigators are finding it difficult to pinpoint the tricycle because it did not have a body number or license plates.

A special task group has been formed to identify the perpetrator.

The victim's family is asking for justice.
