Youngest dies as children fall ill after eating frog in Dipolog

Five children who ate frogs fell ill in Dipolog City. The youngest sibling died.

According to a report on "State of the Nation", the siblings were left at home without a grown-up watching over them.

They looked for food when they became hungry and because they'd eaten frogs before, they ate some with sweet potatoes.

When their mother arrived the following day, she discovered her children lying on the floor vomiting, and their nails turning dark.

Four of the children were taken to the hospital but the youngest was already dead.

The health office said they might have suffered cane toad poisoning. —NB, GMA Integrated News
