Saleslady, live-in partner nabbed in Cavite for P8.5M jewelry heist in Manila
A saleslady and her live-in partner were arrested by police in Naic, Cavite on Saturday for the robbery of a gold jewelry store in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
The suspects were identified by the Manila Police Department (MPD) Station 11 as Cheril Candidato y Zaragosa, 39, and Jeffrel Logronio y Seprioto, according to a report by Jhomer Apresto on Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday.
The two suspects will face charges of qualified theft.
MPD Station 11 said there were inconsistencies in the statement of Candidato, saleslady of the said store, and CCTV footage.
Authorities went to Candidato's residence in Naic and found P8.5 million worth of gold jewelry in the suspects' possession.
However, the jewelry store owner said some P2 million more worth of gold jewelry are still missing.
The suspects on the other hand said they did not touch the loot yet, and that the store owner may have made an error in computation. —KG, GMA Integrated News
