6-year-old girl drowns in Ilocos Norte dam

A six-year-old girl drowned in a dam in Solsona, Ilocos Norte, Emil Sumangil reported on “State of the Nation” on Wednesday.

An initial investigation showed that the victim’s family went to the dam for a Summer outing. However, they did not notice that the child went missing.

The victim’s remains were recovered in a deep portion of the dam. She was immediately rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, the local government banned all swimming activities in the area. -- Sundy Locus/BAP, GMA Integrated News
