Extreme heat lowers water levels at Cebu's Buhisan, Jaclupan Dams
The water levels of two of the surface water sources of the Metro Cebu Water District dropped due to extreme heat.
According to Bernadette Reyes’ report on “24 Oras Weekend,” Buhisan Dam's daily reduction level dropped from 5,000 cubic meters per day to 3,000 cubic meters. Meanwhile, Jaclupan Dam also dropped from 30,000 cubic meters to a 25,000 daily reduction level.
While the water supply from both dams was still adequate, authorities nevertheless urged the public to save water.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said that as of Saturday, April 22, 2023, the water elevation level at the Angat Dam declined to 196.52 meters. Ipo Dam was at 98.87 meters, La Mesa at 77.17 meters, and Ambuklao at 740.15 meters.
Binga Dam was at 566.62 meters, San Roque at 236.03 meters, and Caliraya at 286.13 meters. — Sherylin Untalan/DVM, GMA Integrated News
