DOH supports expansion of Region 1 Medical Center facilities
The Department of Health (DOH) has expressed its support for further expanding the facilities of the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) in Dagupan City.
On Friday, DOH officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire, together with local government officials, visited the facilities of the R1MC, including their intensive care units (ICUs), hemodialysis unit, and laboratories.
“OIC Vergeire expressed her support for further expanding the facilities of the R1MC, particularly its ICUs, to aid its decongestion. The OIC pledged that the DOH will be with the R1MC for its provision of better health services to the people,” the DOH said.
According to the DOH, the R1MC has continuously extended its services through the development of certain facilities, such as the expansion of its payward to 60 beds, construction of the seven-storey main building, which shall house the internal medicine, pediatrics, ob-gyne, and surgery units, among others.
“I would like to recognize the efforts of R1MC by being able to simultaneously deliver healthcare services while further improvement is ongoing,” Vergeire said.
“In the name of universal healthcare and genuine care for our people, the DOH will provide the needed support to R1MC to develop the facilities it needs to provide quality service to our people,” she added. —Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA Integrated News
