San Jose del Monte, Bulacan expects over 1 million tourists for Holy Week

More than one million tourists are expected to visit San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan to observe the Holy Week, Representative Florida Robes said on Tuesday.

“Noong 2021, 84,000 lang kami. Tapos noong nag-pandemya, 2022, naging 1.2 million kami,” she said at a televised public briefing when asked about the possible number of tourists.

(We only had 84,000 tourists in 2021. As the pandemic eased, the number of tourists increased to 1.2 million.)

In preparation for the influx of tourists, Robes said concerned personnel will have a meeting on traffic management and how to ensure peace and order.

The lawmaker said the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto Shrine and Padre Pio Mountain of Healing are among the popular destinations in the city for Holy Week, which will take place from April 2 to 8.

She added that the vicariates will organize the Holy Week activities in the city. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
