Magnitude 5.0 quake jolts Davao Oriental

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake was reported southeast Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental early Saturday morning by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The agency earlier reported a magnitude 5.2 occurred in the area.

The quake occurred at 12:11 a.m. was tectonic in origin with a depth of 39 kilometers.

The agency reported that there are no damages expected but the public is warned that they may be aftershocks. -- BAP, GMA Integrated News
