NUP designated SOJ Remulla’s son Abeng as Cavite board member — Gov. Jonvic
The National Unity Party (NUP) has designated the son of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla, Abeng, as board member of the 7th district of Cavite, Governor Jonvic Remulla said Thursday.
“Yes,” Jonvic told GMA News Online in a message when asked to confirm about Abeng’s designation.
“[Board members] are recommended by the vacated position’s party. The nomination is then forwarded to the [Office of the President] for their appointment as replacement. There is no succession rule in the case of [board members],” he added.
Abeng replaces his brother, Crispin Diego or “Ping”, who was elected congressman during a special elections held recently.
On February 26, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) proclaimed Ping as the victor in the special congressional elections for Cavite's seventh district.
Ping filled the congressional seat vacated by his father, Boying, after the latter accepted the post of Justice Secretary. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
