Magnitude 4.8 quake hits Jomalig, Quezon

A magnitude 4.8 earthquake hit Jomalig in Quezon province before noon Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.

The tectonic quake occurred at 11:09 a.m. and has a depth of two kilometers.

The quake was felt at Intensity II in Quezon City.

The following areas also felt it at various strength:

• Intensity IV - Polillo, Quezon
• Intensity II - Dingalan and Baler, Aurora;
• Intensity I - Malolos City and Plaridel, Bulacan; Mercedes, Camarines Norte; Gapan City, Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija; Infanta, Alabat, and Guinayangan, Quezon.

PHIVOLCS said it does not expect aftershocks nor damage from the earthquake.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
