PHIVOLCS: Over 300 aftershocks recorded after Masbate quake

The aftershocks recorded following the Magnitude 6.8 earthquake that struck  Masbate on Thursday has climbed to over 300, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said Friday.

PHIVOLCS said this included the magnitude 4.8 aftershock recorded early Friday, according to a report on "24 Oras".

Meanwhile, the provincial government continues to inspect the affected buildings for possible cracks.

It also distributed relief assistance to the affected residents.

Water supply in the huge portion of Masbate was already restored while classes and government work remain cancelled. —Sundy Locus/NB, GMA Integrated News
