16 people hurt, 52 infra damaged due magnitude 6 Davao de Oro quake —OCD
At least 16 people were injured while 97 others were affected by the magnitude 6 earthquake that hit Davao de Oro on Wednesday, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said Friday.
In its 8 a.m. report, the OCD said 52 infrastructures and two houses were damaged due to the impact of the earthquake, which also triggered two landslide incidents.
The OCD said its regional office and local disaster management offices are continuing their assessment, coordination and monitoring after the earthquake.
Necessary assistance is being provided to the victims, according to the OCD.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the epicenter of the quake, which occurred at 6:44 p.m. on Wednesday, was located at 12 kilometers N 29° E of New Bataan.
It said the quake occurred southeast of Compostela in Davao de Oro with a depth of 28 kilometers.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said 745 aftershocks have been recorded as of 8 a.m. on Friday.
Of these aftershocks, only one was felt, while the magnitude ranges from 1.3 to 3.6, PHIVOLCS said. —Joviland Rita with Richa Noriega/KBK, GMA Integrated News
