3 killed, 4 hurt in Cavite grenade blast — police
Three people were killed and four others, including the suspect, were injured after a hand grenade exploded during a riot among teenagers in Cavite City in Cavite late Wednesday night, the Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) said Thursday.
According to the police, two groups of male teenagers engaged in a brawl in Barangay 10-A in Cavite City around 11:58 p.m.
They were chasing and throwing stones at each other until they reached the adjacent Barangay 11 and were accosted by its barangay personnel, the police said.
Police said a barangay officer saw one of the teenagers removing the safety pin of a hand grenade he was holding, resulting in the explosion.
One of the injured victims was in critical condition at Divine Grace Hospital, while the others, including the 18-year-old suspect identified as Arjay Camacho, were in stable condition in different hospitals.
Camacho and an alias "Daniel," a minor, were arrested. The minor was turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office for proper disposition, the police said. —Joviland Rita/BAP/KBK, GMA Integrated News
