Off duty soldier shot dead in Davao de Oro
A soldier, who was buying medicines from a drug store, was shot at close range several times by a still unknown gunman in Montevista, Davao de Oro, according to a report of GMA Regional TV One Mindanao on "State of the Nation."
A CCTV footage showed the victim leaning on the counter of the store when a man approached him from behind, pulled out a gun, and shot him several times.
The gunman immediately fled onboard a waiting motorcycle.
Authorities recovered seven spent bullets of a caliber 45 firearm and two slugs.
The police said there are already persons of interest in the case.
Montevista Municipal Police Station Police Chief Capt. Alvin Atienza said they are looking into a possible motive in the killing.
"Meron tayong tinitingnan na anggulo ng vengeance. Posibleng may kinalaman sa trabaho," Atienza said in an interview. -- BAP, GMA Integrated News
