4.8-magnitude earthquake shakes Tinaga Island, Camarines Norte

A 4.8-magnitude earthquake hit southeast off Tinaga Island in Camarines Norte early Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Seismology and Volcanology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
PHIVOLCS earlier reported that the quake was at magnitude 5.3 and had a depth of 10 kilometers.
The quake occurred at 5:57 a.m. with a depth of one kilometer and was tectonic in origin.
The quake was felt in the following areas:
- Intensity V - Mercedes, Camarines Norte
- Intensity IV - Guinayangan, and Tagkawayan, Quezon
- Intensity III - Buenavista, and Lopez, Quezon; Naga City, Camarines Sur
- Intensity II - Catanauan, and San Narciso, Quezon
The agency reported that damage is expected and aftershocks may occur. —BAP/KG, GMA Integrated News
