Member of kidnap for ransom group nabbed in Puerto Princesa
An alleged member of a kidnap-for-ransom group was arrested in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
According to John Consulta’s exclusive report on “24 Oras”, suspect Jai Sunshine Chua fled to Palawan in 2018 and has been in hiding for years.
Chua is one of the suspects in a kidnapping incident in which the perpetrators dressed as operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
“Miyembro siya ng isang kidnap for ransom group na operating within Greater Metro Manila area,” said Puerto Princesa City Police Director PCol. Roberto Bucad.

“Nagsimula natin siyang trabahuhin alinsunod sa one time-big time operation laban sa mga most wanted persons. Alinsunod na rin yan sa ipinapatupad na ‘manhunt charlie’ sa lungsod ng Puerto Princesa,” he said.
(We started investigating them in line with our one time-big time operation against the most wanted persons and the ongoing ‘manhunt charlie’ in Puerto Princesa City.)
Authorities are still investigating if there are other members of the kidnapping group who are staying in Palawan, according to Bucad.
“Ico-commit natin siya sa court of origin. Napakaimportante na mahuli natin itong most wanted person na ito sa utos na rin ng korte at para mamaintain natin ang peace and order dito sa Palawan,” he added.
(We will commit her to the court of origin. We need to arrest this most wanted person as per the court’s order and to maintain the peace and order in Palawan.)
