Taytay tiangge lures shoppers of budget-friendly clothes

Shoppers trooped to a Taytay, Rizal tiangge to buy budget-friendly clothes amid the Christmas season, Lei Alviz reported Friday on “24 Oras.”

Some shoppers bought clothes for their Christmas party outfits.

Christmas pajamas for kids cost P60 and above, while they cost P120 and above for adults.

“Parang mas tight yung ano pagmedyo pare-parehas kayo, yung bonding ninyo is nagiging close kayo and something to remember paglaki nila,” shopper Jen Alimario said.

The prices of crop tops, square tops, and high-waisted shorts ranged from P50 to P200.

Meanwhile, the “coords” or partner top and bottom cost P200.

Mini and maxi dresses are also available at the Taytay tiangge at around P160.

“Marami ka po talaga makikita dito na magagandang design, mga local po talaga na gumagawa ng damit is marami po talagang magaganda,” shopper Manilyn Perje said.

“Mga pambata [na damit], babae o lalaki. Mga anak ng pamangkin ko, mas mura kasi eh,” another shopper said.

The clothes in the tiangge are “updated in trend” and mostly locally made in Taytay.

“Pinopromote talaga namin yung Taytay na nandito lahat ang mananahi, nandito ang magtatabas, nandito lahat sila. Kaya ang original talaga dito ay mga taga Taytay,” Maria Edita Ignacio, branch administrator of BAGPI, said.

“Naghahanap po ako ng trending sa market kung ano ang uso, at mabili sa market yun po ang tinatahi namin ang ending po nagugustuhan ng mga buyer,” stall owner Bern San Juan said.

Meanwhile, the management of the Taytay tiangge strictly enforces security measures, including placing security guards and CCTV cameras, amid the holiday season. — Richa Noriega/DVM, GMA Integrated News
