Caliraya joyride turns into nightmare as couple robbed, girlfriend raped
The joyride near Caliraya lake of a young couple turned into a nightmare after they were robbed, the man beaten up and his girlfriend raped.
According to Emil Sumangil's report on "24 Oras," the lovers "Jeffrey" and "Madelle" were said to have traveled to the lake in Lumban, Laguna.
They arrived around 9 P.M., and just after a few minutes, a tricycle came and approached them.
He said the suspects took them to a secluded area and assaulted him.
His girlfriend was reportedly raped.
The victims later called for help from the residents, who took them to the police.
While the woman was rushed to the hospital after sustaining stab wounds, the police took the man with them in the follow-up operation.
“Dumating po itong isang tricycle na may kaparehong description. Positibo na pong itinuro ng ating biktima,” said Police Captain Ed Pacana, Lumban Municipal Police Chief.
The authorities captured the suspect, Danilo Balimbad, and his accomplice, Joseph Reyes, who were previously involved in theft and illegal drugs.
Eh napag-isip pong manghold-up po,” said one of the suspects.
The police said they would deploy personnel to monitor the area.
—Sherylin Untalan/NB, GMA Integrated News
