Body of missing 18-year-old Camarines Sur girl found in sack
The body of an 18-year-old girl who went missing was found stuffed inside a sack in Pili, Camarines Sur.
According to GMA Regional TV Balitang Bicolandia's Jessica Calinog’s “24 Oras” report on Tuesday, 18-year-old Irish Mae Payonga asked her parents for permission to attend a church convention last October 28.
Her mother did not give her permission due to the inclement weather, but the victim still went to the event.
“May pumunta sa amin sa bahay na mga grupo siguro mga kabataan din sabi nila na kami yung dapat na kasama ni Irish sa event sa CWC. Sabi ko, hindi sa akin yan nainform ni Irish. Kaya pinakita sa akin yung screenshot na yung last convo nila na 5:44 paalis na daw ng bus yung message ni Irish. So malamang nakasakay siya ng bus, natuloy siya,” said Irish's mother, Elaine Payonga.
(A group of youths came to our house. They said that Irish was supposed to be with them at the CWC event. Irish did not inform me of that. So they showed the screenshot of their last conversation. Irish said the bus left at 5:44. So she probably got on the bus.)
After that last message, the victim's friends no longer heard from her. Her family then reported the matter to the police.
The victim’s body was found after three days.
Authorities are still trying to determine the victim's cause of death.
“Kasi kung sa pisikal po yung katawan po kasi ng victim is in the stage of decomposition so mahirap na rin po makita doon sa pisikal kung may ano or something kasi nga po medyo bloated na po siya gawa ng masamang panahon at maulan," Police Major Maria Victoria Abalaing, Camarines Sur PPO said.
(The body of the victim was in a state of decomposition, so it is difficult to see physically if there is anything or something. Because she was a bit bloated because of the bad weather and rain.)
The police arrested a possible suspect involved in the incident.
“Si Irish po mabait na bata, masipag mag-aral. Hindi siya yung batang lakwatsera. School, work yun lang ano niya eh. Bahay, school, church yung ganun lang. Hindi yan mahilig matulog sa ibang bahay kasi very ano yan metikuloso sa gamit, sa tutulugan niya,” Elaine said.
(Irish was a good girl and hardworking. She was always at home. School, work were the only things she was concerned with. Home, school, church - just that. She doesn't like to sleeping in other people's houses because she is very meticulous about things, where she will sleep.)
The victim's father, Rene Payonga, was thankful to the Pili police's quick action on his daughter's case. — Richa Noriega/DVM, GMA News
