18-year-old senior high school student caught pimping classmates to foreigners

Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation in Southern Tagalog arrested an 18-year-old senior high school student who allegedly pimped her classmates to foreigners online.

According to John Consulta's report on "24 Oras," the suspect used two dummy Facebook accounts to send her classmates' photos to prospective clients.

“'Yung target talaga nila dito na kliyente is foreigner. So, kaya nga yung venue, meron na silang venue na resort na malapit din, na ginagamit na magbakasyon o mag-swimming doon. Para aside from beach ay meron ding sexual exploitation,” NBI CALABARZON regional director Glen Ricarte said.

The suspect was identified as Darrah Mae Gray.

“Kailangan ko po ng pera kasi po nag-aaral po ako. Senior high na po kasi ako, ako lang po nagpapaaral sa sarili ko,” she said.

Gray will be a complaint for violating the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act.

“Aside from COVID-19, possible rin ang mga sexual transmitted disease. Ang isa pang nakakatakot diyan, is yung possibility na baka mabuntis itong mga estudyanteng ito, matigil ang kanilang pag-aaral,” NBI spokesperson Atty. Gisele Garcia-Dumlao said.

Twelve women, including a minor, were rescued and are now under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). —Sherylin Untalan/NB, GMA News
