Woman in Balayan, Batangas stabbed to death by live-in partner

A 36-year-old woman died after being stabbed several times by her live-in partner in Balayan, Batangas. The victim's alleged lover, a neighbor, was also killed.

The victim's daughter denied that her mother was in a relationship with a male neighbor.

According to Denice Abante's report on GMA Regional TV "Balitang Southern Tagalog," the victim was Analyn Alico and her neighbor, 33-year-old Edison Nucup, both residents of Barangay San Piro.

Police say the suspect, Remegio Doble, committed the crime due to extreme anger. Doble immediately surrendered and confessed to committing the crime. He said that he does not regret his actions.

Analyn's eldest daughter, Angel, said her father's suspicion is not true.

“Hindi naman po talaga totoo yung mga kumakalat na balita na magkalaguyo si Mama po at saka yung kapitbahay po namin. Ang tamang hinala lang po, halos lahat po ng mga pumupunta dito sa bahay namin na lalaki pinaghihinalaan niya (aking ama) na kabit daw po ng Mama ko,” said Angel.

(The rumor that my mother was in a relationship with our neighbor is not true. My father suspects that almost all the male visitors who come to our house are my mother's lover.)

Doble is in the custody of the Balayan Police, and the case has been reported to the Batangas Police Provincial Office. They are still looking at the angle of the suspect's use of illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, the remains of Edison Nucup had been brought home to Pampanga. GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog is still trying to reach Nucup's relatives for a statement.  -- Sherylin Untalan/BAP, GMA News
