Magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolts Pilar, Abra —PHIVOLCS
A magnitude 5.2 earthquake shook Pilar, Abra on early Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
The earthquake, tectonic in origin, occurred at 2:27 a.m.
It was recorded at 17.36°N, 120.49°E - 012 km S 61° W of Pilar, Abra.
The quake had a depth of 004 kilometers.

Intensity V was felt in Pilar, Bangued, and Bucay in Abra, while Intensity IV was logged in Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur; and San Fernando, La Union.
Based on PHIVOLCS Earthquake Intensity Scale, “strong” shaking and rocking could be felt throughout a building under Intensity V. It could also be generally felt by most people indoors and outdoors.
On the other hand, Intensity IV has a “moderately strong” shaking which is generally felt by people indoors and some people outdoors. Its vibration is also “felt like a passing of heavy truck.”
Damage and aftershocks are expected due to the earthquake, according to PHIVOLCS. —LBG, GMA News
