Cagayan farmers, residents affected by Florita receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation

A total of 4,800 individuals from Baggao, Cagayan affected by severe tropical storm Florita received aid from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According a report on "24 Oras," Friday, many of the residents were rice and corn farmers who suddenly lost their crops in the storm.

Among them was Jesa Mia Beniasan's family, whose home was also damaged by the previous earthquake and typhoons.

"'Yung inaasahan namin na mga pananim namin dun wala na. 'Yung puhunan dun utang lang tapos binagyo," she said.

"Araw-araw maglalakad ka ng dalawang oras, magtatrabaho ka, 'yung pagod mo, 'yung gastos mo, sa isang iglap mawawala lahat," she added.

Aside from distributing relief goods to the affected residents, the GMA Kapuso Foundation also conducted a feeding program for 500 people from Barangay San Isidro and Barsat East and West.

The foundation also gave medicine and vitamins to the Baggao Rural Health Unit.

The GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
