Police arrest 6 people over land scam

Six persons were arrested by police in Quezon for using fake titles to pawn real estate.

According to Emil Sumangil’s report on "24 Oras Weekend" on Saturday, the victims were furious as they confronted the suspects who had pawned their land using fake documents.

Some victims were forced to return from the United States after becoming aware of the scheme.

"I will spend all my money just to put you in jail," one woman said.

The victims asked the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Quezon to apprehend the suspects.

The suspects, who declined to give a statement, are currently detained at the CIDG provincial office in Lucena City. —Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA News
