Magnitude 5 quake hits Surigao del Norte
A magnitude 5 quake struck Socorro, Surigao del Norte on Wednesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The tectonic quake occurred at 5:35 p.m. with a depth of 132 kilometers, according to the PHIVOLCS earthquake bulletin.

The epicenter of the quake was located five kilometers northwest of Socorro town.
PHIVOLCS said Intensity II was felt in Carrascal and Tandag, Surigao del Sur while Instrumental Intensity I was felt in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte and Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
