7 dead, 1 missing in Cavite bridge collapse

Seven people have died while one is still missing after a suspended steel bridge collapsed in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Tuesday night, July 26.

According to a report on State of the Nation, the old bridge in Sitio Talisayan, Barangay Sampaloc IV collapsed a few minutes after 9 p.m.

Dasmariñas City Mayor Jennifer Barzaga said 13 youngsters were on the bridge at the time of the incident. Five of them survived.

Bargaza said the bridge has long been closed to the public as it is very old.
