Remains of slain Ateneo guard to be brought to Misamis Occidental

The remains of Jeneven Bandiala will be brought to Misamis Occidental but there is still no date as documents related to the arrangement are still being processed, GMA News' James Agustin reported.

At present, Bandiala's remains are at the St. Ignatius Funeral Homes in Quezon City.

Bandiala was one of three people killed in the shooting incident in Ateneo de Manila University last Sunday.

Also killed in the incident were former Lamitan City, Basilan mayor Rose Furigay and her aide Victor Capistrano.

The gunman, identified as Chao-Tiao Yumol - a doctor and a resident of Lamitan - entered the Ateneo campus as the graduation ceremony of the law school was about to start.

Also wounded during the incident was Furigay's daughter Hannah, a graduating law student, who is undergoing medical treatment.

Hannah was shot in the liver and colon. A bullet also grazed her left eye. She has been released from the hospital's intensive care unit, but will need another operation.

Meanwhile, online novena Masses are held for the victims of the Ateneo shooting that started on Monday until Aug. 2, 2022.-- BAP/RSJ, GMA News
