Six-foot crocodile caught after taking bait in fish trap
A six-foot crocodile has been caught at a farm near a river in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
According to Joanne Ponsoy's report on "24 Oras", the crocodile took the bait in the trap meant for fish in Barangay Malis.
It took the residents an hour to control and tie up the crocodile.
The crocodile reportedly has been living in the river for a long time.
The local government unit tried but failed to capture it.
“Maraming nag-aalala gawa ng napakataas na tubig. Ngayon, marami talagang nag-aalala kaya lang eh siguro, inaaksyunan naman nila sabi ng taga munisipyo umaga at gabi raw pinapain naman nila para sinusubukang hulihin,” a resident said.
(Many are concerned about the deep water. Currently, a lot of people are really worried, but the municipality said they were taking action. Day and night, they were trying to catch it.)
The crocodile is now in the custody of the Biodiversity Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. -Richa Noriega/NB, GMA News
