Philippine Coast Guard, US Marines assess maritime threats in Caraga
The Philippine Coast Guard and the United States Marines have partnered to assess the threats in the maritime areas off the Caraga Region.
In a statement on Wednesday, the PCG said Commodore Eduardo De Luna Jr., Northeastern Mindanao district commander, and US Marines Commander Ryan Paulson conducted an aerial survey of the coastal waters off the Caraga Region on July 5.
"Through the said initiative, the CGDNEM (Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao) and US Marines identified vulnerable coastal areas and assessed the region's threats to maritime safety, marine environmental protection, and maritime security," the PCG said.
The aerial survey results will be used to finalize the CGDNEM Maritime Security Development Plan for Region XIII, the agency said. —Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA News
