PCG: Corpse of elderly victim retrieved off Davao del Norte port

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported that they and the Island Garden City of Samal's (IGACOS') Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Office retrieved the lifeless body of a senior citizen off a local port early Saturday morning.

The body of 63-year-old victim Rogelio Tacder, a resident of Davao del Norte's Panabo City, was retrieved off the Mae Wess Port at 2:20 a.m.

According to the PCG, the victim parked his vehicle at the port while waiting for an incoming barge crossing from Samal to Davao.

However, the victim accidentally accelerated towards the sea and was trapped inside his vehicle that fell off Mae Wess Port.

After retrieving the body, the victim's vehicle was towed and turned over to the Kinawitnon Wharf's Engineering Office.

The body was, meanwhile, brought to the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) for proper disposition. — DVM, GMA News
